Evening Gooners,
Thought I'd start by sharing the very first line of Arsene Wenger's official e-mail
"We have to make sure we respond well"
Now, I was going to point out how obvious that statement is but then I started thinking that it's not really just a statement about the team, it's a statement that all fans should take to heart and follow. Browsing through blogs yesterday and even today, Arsenal fans have become massively negative overnight against the team and in particular Almunia. West Brom was a bad chapter early on in the story of Arsenal's season but lets leave it alone now and get behind our team again, we as fans must respond well.
News today says that Almunia will miss Tuesday nights game at Partizan Belgrade due to injuring his shoulder when he conceded the penalty on Saturday. I say this in the kindest way possible, I bloody well hope he is injured!
Now before you judge me, read on just a little more. I don't and would never wish injury on any player but has anyone else noticed that Almunia always gets 'injured' after a bad performance. Our number 1 has a history of having a long spell out after a string of bad performances, officially being listed as injured. I just hope that is a genuine injury and he'll be back between the sticks full of confidence and ready to go at Chelsea at the weekend so he can enjoy the victory with the rest us.
A short one today but as the little cartoon piggy says... That's all folks,
Goonerfish.
I sure hope the boys can bounce back from the West Brom result.
ReplyDeleteWenger will ring in the changes for sure, so it will be interesting to see who steps out tomorrow.
